In this course students will learn about the importance of physical activity and personal fitness, aspects of sport and recreation, and healthy eating habits.

Health 101

This course provides an overview of how behavior affects health.

Students will learn about nutrition and physical activity; growth, development, and sexual health; injury and safety prevention; alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; mental, emotional, and social health; and personal and community health. Students will also explore how the choices they make about their bodies affect both their present and future. They will also be given tools to make informed decisions to better their health.

In this course, students will explore key concepts from combative sports, gymnastics and tumbling, and a variety of team sports and activities.

Students will also focus on advanced fitness guidelines, motor skill development, game strategy, and the physical, emotional, and cognitive factors that affect performance. Throughout the course, students will evaluate their own fitness by setting goals, designing an exercise plan, and tracking their results.
